Reona Ueda + Newwork\'s Kanzashi 1.7
Japanese artist Reona Ueda and Studio Newwork collaborate on a traditional Japanese hair ornament, Kanzashi 1.7, the first installment of a collaboration by the duo currently available on Hugo & Marie's shop. The spiraling text reads:

IT DOES NOT MEAN TO BE IN A PLACE
WHERE THERE IS NO NOISE, TROUBLE OR HARDWORK.
IT MEANS TO BE IN THE MIDST OF THOSE THINGS
AND STILL BE CALM IN YOUR HEART.

UNKNOWN

The bold, almost stamp-like, wrapping lyrics are complimented with uniquely handmade representations of native Japanese plants in a fashion that actively guides you to live your life with direction and focus. Acting as a sharp dagger, you pierce your hair with its message, letting it resonate as a reminder to let the calm rush in when the world seems to move to fast.

The limited edition of 100 is created with urethane-coated lacquered resin and stainless steel - available in white or black.
